2020 Comparison: Honda Accord vs. Nissan Altima

2020 Honda Accord

This version of the popular Accord is just as impressive as Honda’s previous versions. It offers excellent fuel economy, has an impressive reputation for reliability and is extremely roomy. It comes with an available manual transmission and features the latest safety technology. Buyers also have a variety of powertrain choices, including a 2.0L turbo paired with  a 10-speed automatic transmission. Although the 6-speed manual transmission might not be the most efficient choice, it is one of the top features of the 2020 Honda Accord.

Above-average: High reliability, spacious, comfortable.

Below average: No option of all-wheel drive.

Consensus: This is a great car for someone who is looking for reliability plus great resale value.

2020 Nissan Altima

The 2020 model doesn’t get a whole lot of updates since it was last redesigned for 2019. It is loaded with technology and efficient performance and is roomy and comfortable. The on-road performance of the Altima is quite impressive- it’s relatively athletic, zippy and compliant on a daily commute. Once the Altima gets going, it’s extremely comfortable (but off the line, the response is slightly sluggish). The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) is quite good too. However, if you want some more pep, you might want to opt for the VC-Turbo engine. You can get the all-wheel-drive when you opt for the 2.5L engine. Thanks to the ‘zero-gravity’ front seat designs, the interiors of the Altima are comfortable. They have been designed to reduce fatigue and stress- this also makes the Altima one of the most comfortable cars on the market.

Above-average: Efficient, comfortable, safety equipment, available all-wheel drive and good infotainment system.

Below average: No longer offered with a V6 engine and has average trunk space.

Consensus: It is a comfortable ride that is somewhat spacious, performs efficiently and includes the latest technology.

Similarities:

Both these sedans offer good reliability and plenty of fuel-efficiency.

Advantages of the Honda Accord:

Comfortable, smooth ride; a variety of engines.

Advantages of the Nissan Altima:

The option of all-wheel drive.
